Learn Drums. Record. Excel.
More Than Drum Lessons Alone...
Studio Muso offer drum lessons to anyone looking to study and learn the drums in a fun, encouraging atmosphere. Based in the Brighton & Hove area of East Sussex, our unique approach to learning combines:
One-to-one drum lessons.
Regular studio recording.
Extensive online material.
In our first lesson together, we will discuss the strengths and weaknesses in your drumming, how much time you would like to devote to studying the drums and from there, decide upon the best direction required to make improvements to your playing from the first lesson onwards. We will create detailed lesson plans with you tailored towards what you want to learn and the techniques needed to get you there. This could start from something as simple as learning to play along to your favourite songs and developing your skills or by diving straight into a style of music you've always wanted to get your head around. Everyone learns in different ways and our unique combination of: one-to-one tuition, regular recording time and video lessons allow for the 3 main ways that we all learn (Visually, Audibly and Kinetically) to not only be covered, but thoroughly explored. Let's face it, learning an instrument instantly becomes much more fun when you're able to discover what learning style works best for you!
During your recording sessions, you will be able to put what you have learned behind the kit into practice and more importantly, context. We will review your recordings in the lessons where you will get used to analysing your playing the same way you would in a professional recording session and after a short while, you will become seasoned to studio work. On top of this, you will have access to our exclusive online e-learning platform that is only available to our students. This will cause you to excel in your drumming ability fast and effectively.
Video Lessons, Exam Resources & Much More
With the concept of Studio Muso we really thought about how our students could have unlimited access to their learning and not have to wait until the next lesson to go over something we covered the week before, that they may be struggling with. Through years of teaching experience we're aware that this is exactly the sort of thing that can cause so much frustration, to the point that it ultimately hinders a students progression and confidence! And this is exactly what we've worked to avoid happening. Let's say you have a grade exam coming up and want to see a play-through of your chosen exam pieces, or just revise some sightreading/ear training exercises so you feel completely at ease and prepared, then you'll find it all here. Maybe we've been working through a song you love and you can't get your head around just one section of it, then you'll find the answer here. It could even be that you want to see some practical groove/fill uses for a rudiment we covered, then you'll find it here.
By adding this Exclusive Content element to our site we were able to make the teaching resources we've gathered up over the years available in one easy to navigate place. This means there are no limits to the pace each student can learn at as we have it all covered. These resources are exclusive to our students and because of this, are tailored towards them and what/how they want to learn.
