WHAT IS STUDIO MUSO?

Studio Muso provide high quality lessons from professional musicians on guitar, drums, vocals and keyboards with a view to recording regularly which will give students an extra dimension to their learning experience.  After 5 consecutive lessons, students will also gain access to exclusive content only available through Studio Muso.

HOW MUCH ARE THE LESSONS?

Midweek lessons are currently £40 per hour from 4pm and £30 per hour before 4pm. Weekend rates are £40 per hour and taught at the tutors home.  The recording session will take place in the studio and will also be charged at £40 per hour after 4pm and £30 per hour before 4pm.  Half hour lessons are charged at £20 from 4pm, and £17 before 4pm.  Please remember the recording session will take an hour (or 2x30 minute sessions).

ISN'T THAT MORE EXPENSIVE THAN MOST TUTORS?

Mostly you will get what you pay for, but at Studio Muso, we offer far more than just regular teaching.  You get recording experience and a huge amount of online content (on both guitar and drums) not available anywhere else, so you will actually save money in the long run as you won`t need as many lessons on one particular song/technique etc.  Our students are getting an amazing deal, and improve faster.

DO I BOOK THE LESSONS IN BLOCKS OR PAY AS I GO?

You can do whichever one suits you best!

IS THERE A CANCELLATION FEE?

Please give 48 hours if you wish to cancel a lesson/recording session or there will be a charge of one lesson.

DO YOU PREPARE STUDENTS FOR EXAMS?

Yes!  We prepare students for Rockschool, Trinity and ABRSM exam boards, and we have a 100% pass rate with mostly merits and distinctions!

HOW CAN I ACCESS THE EXCLUSIVE CONTENT AND WHAT IS IT?

After 5 consecutive lessons you will be emailed a password in a newsletter, and you will have access to our whole back catalogue of videos lessons, tips and helpful advice on your instrument for the entire time you are our student!  You will also find useful links, such as what to buy and where to buy it (all based in/around Brighton), instrument maintenance tips and useful apps, backing tracks, and so much more!  There will also be extensive materials to aid you in exam preparation such as sightreading and ear tests!  It is also updated regularly.  A goldmine of information!  We also listen to feedback and will include your suggestions where possible.

CAN YOU HELP ME JOIN A BAND?

Yes!  We encourage our students to form relationships with other musicians of a similar standard.

HOW GOOD ARE THE RECORDINGS?

There are 2 answers to this!  First, we will have 1 hour to record and mix your playing.  You will improve drastically as you record more and receive more lessons, so it will be dependent on your current ability and experience.  Second, if the demo holds more importance (eg audition, gift for a loved one), we will need to spend a little more time to make it sound as polished as possible.  Click here for some examples.

THE RECORDING PART SOUNDS SCARY!  IS IT SCARY?

No!  Students are always amazed at how much fun it is!  Your tutor will be with you and will be done in a very friendly, relaxed atmosphere.  You won`t need to worry about a thing!  And the more you do, the more relaxed you will be!

HOW LONG BEFORE I CAN EXPECT TO RECORD?

This will be discussed with your tutor, generally it will be between 4 to 6 lessons.

HOW WILL THE RECORDING BE DONE?

You will first discuss the song choices with your tutor and you will be recorded with a backing track.  In order to avoid difficult licensing issues, students will need to buy the backing track, but they are cheap.

CAN I JUST BOOK A RECORDING SESSION AND GIVE THE SONG AS A GIFT TO A LOVED ONE?

Of course!  This would be the perfect gift for Mother's Day, Father's Day, Valentine's Day or Christmas!
